Dr. Conita Ip is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Alberta with over twenty years of experience supporting individuals and families across government, non-profit, and private practice settings. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Family Counselling and Family Education from Hong Kong, where she spent ten years working in hospital (medical and palliative care) and family service settings. After immigrating to Canada in 2005, she completed her PhD in Social Work at the University of Calgary, specializing in immigrant mental health.

She adopts an eclectic, evidence-based counselling approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed practice, mindfulness-based interventions, and the Strengths Perspective.
Shaped by her own challenging life journey and inspired by the resiliency of her clients, Dr. Ip is committed to helping individuals create meaningful change, cultivate psychological flexibility, and build resilience through life’s adversities. In addition to her clinical practice, she teaches counselling at Ambrose University and is frequently invited by non-profit and faith-based organizations to speak on mental wellness. She has also been interviewed on radio and television on topics related to mental health.
